Week 1 3/4 with New Boss

Well I'm still alive and kicking at SOE. Today was perhaps my most hectic day there EVER. Normally I do about two load screens per week. Sometimes three, but this was a whopping 4 loadscreens with promotions that had to get permissions from other companies that had their logos on it. Sheesh. If this is normally the case next time we plan to do a SC promo and we are going to include retailers... let's start that one like 3 weeks early shall we?

Today was the day of last minute changes. Mind you I have only 4 hours in day to get stuff done - not a huge window of time to wait around for legal to approve... then an hour before I have to leave the last last minute changes come through. Change this text, add some other text there. Oh and this all has to be done before end of day and uploaded to perforce. Heaven forbid someone else doing it... or eager people jumping the gun by grabbing files out of my public folder and uploading to perforce before legal has approved. Ack.

My new boss I rarely see. I'm actually ok with that. If she has a problem she lets me know in no uncertain terms -- but I don't like that our working relationship is in essence "no relationship". She has someone I do like and work well with as her point man (who I don't actually answer to -- WTF?!) to interface with me -- so I guess that ultimately ends up working out. Still... it doesn't set well with me but ah well. Guess it's her style of management. That's not how I'd do things if I were a boss... but I'm not one so guess I have to live with it.

I'm just glad that at the end of the day when all is said and done it got done (and got a ^5 from the point man -- I LOOOOVE ^5's from my programming days). Now I have 3 hours (stayed an hour late one day) to complete my 20 hours this week and gotta do some art for PR. Nice that I have Friday off. After today... I need it.
